Description
1967. 1st, and we believe only, edition. 8 1/4″ x 11 1/4″. Very scarce book that focuses on the parties thrown by the Kennedys and their refurbishing of the White House. All headed up, of course, by the late Mrs. Kennedy who did it better than anyone after (or before!) her. Written by then social secretary, Anne Lincoln. Profusely illustrated with until then unpublished photographs of the Kennedys along with their guest and performers at the functions. Book is almost entirely made up of photographs, copies of letters and invitations and menus. Also well featured are details and pictures of the remaking of the White House. Here’s just a few chapter titles to wet your appetite: “A visit from Prince Rainier and Princess Grace of Monaco”, “Dinner for former President Truman and Mrs. Truman”, “Christmas 1961”, “Dinner for the Nobel prize winners”, “Congressional Reception”, multiple “Music for Youth” programs and so many more. A must have. Exc+ in Exc++ jacket.
