Description
Very unusual lot that shows a brief history from the early 1970’s and from the original 36 hole course to a 54 (36 + 18) hole course.
The first item is a large color brochure complete with course map and pars. It is loaded with images. It includes what may be documentation of a membership but we have not had it translated and are sure only that it is related to the package.
Next is a small group of newsletters (4). The one in the folder appears to be the first issue and the image is similar to the cover of the brochure. The course is illustrated again in this issue.
Issue number 2 centers on the property and clubhouse and we are adding a postcard of the clubhouse with this issue.
The final of the 4 issues shows what appears to be the plan or addition of the 18 holes to make a total of 54.
There is a glossy newsletter like publication with a sunset cover that also notes the 36 holes.
The next part of the lot is a small grouping of newspaper articles revolving around the change from 36 to 54 holes along with a glossy color brochure of the additional property being developed.
Finally there is the then new brochure for Azusa now with 54 holes. Each of the new holes is pictured and detailed and there is another map. Also with this brochure is a similar folded paper that we speculated might be a contract for membership.
Everything is in very good condition and well kept. Newspaper cuts have darkened from age.
