Description
12 1/4″ x 13″ outer edge matting with 6 1/4″ x 7 1/4″ center/image area.
This is the color remake of a classic 1930’s cartoon done in the 1950’s. This is a one of a kind hand inked production cel and comes with a certificate stating same from the well known animation gallery, Gallery Lainzberg. Lainzberg is no longer open but they were pioneers in animation art sales and are still searchable on the net because of that.
This is from our retail managers personal collection and has never been displayed or removed (save to look at it) from the original preservation envelope. Lainzberg was known for their quality layered matting jobs with nice color accents. Our retail manger dealt exclusively with John Cairns at Lainzberg who was their first sales representative for telephone catalog sales who went one to open his own gallery after Lainzberg closed in 2002. This piece was purchased in the late 1980’s.
Back side still has bag attached with certificate, explanation of what a production cel is and gold authenticity sticker for framing.
Great early piece with classic characters that are rarely seen.
