Well known and respected author of numerous Locomotives books it was his book that included Japanese locomotives (we believe “Far Wheels II”) that made the connection with the then department head of the Pratt Institute’s Industrial Design department. From that blossomed this detailed lecture.
This package includes Small’s entire speech script along with the slides that are checked off on the original slide/picture list plus a couple of extra ones. Additionally there is the opening “American Locomotive” slide. Some slides have duplicates.
Presumably there are slides that Small provided and those do not appear to be in the package though a couple may be in the extras that we could not match up.
Finally you get two large negatives with notations that would make up the image on the poster to advertise this lecture. There is also the text sheet for the poster which would have been sent to production.
Absolutely a one of a kind package and a great addition for any steam locomotive and/or C (Charles).S. Small aficionado.
Please note that pictures of the slides are taken through a normal slide viewer and some appear unfocused because of this, the slides themselves are in focus.
