Description
Huge scrapbook that appears to run from the late 1920’s to mid 1940’s. Clippings are somewhat eclectic but tend to revolve around Decorator themes. These include Streamline / Modern, Early American to 20th Century, Early English Turned Chairs. Many interesting early articles on Collecting and Antiques as well including Sandwich glass, Penny banks, Tea Caddies, Beaded and Mesh handbags, and tons more.
Lots of great advertising tear sheets (Libby Cut Glass, 1938 Ford V-8, Gimbel’s Department store ads with prices for Antique Meissen and Coalport/Rockingham/Spode/Copeland and Crown Derby Pottery) as well along with some sometimes seemingly unrelated, but interesting, articles such as Covered Bridges and an illustrated history of Baby Buggies.
Also includes the 3rd Annual New York Antiques Exhibitors multipage brochure and some loose clippings at the back.
Great early references and one of the more unique scrapbooks we’ve sold. Book exterior in magnificent shape with great Art Deco design. Book is easily 2″ thick at spine and loaded.
