Description
We’ve had these loosely translated by some Japanese friends though not everything has a good direct translation so take it with a grain of salt. We’re told that this small lot of books is at least 50 years old and we assume the time period is very early 1950’s since these were consigned along with the small grouping of “Silver Bells from Hiroshima” children’s story books that are dated and in English (make sure you check those out too – Fabulous)
The books are based upon a classic story from Japan and the general title is “Children’s Picture book”. This illustrations in these books is superior and worthy of framing. The rarity of these books published just after the Hiroshima bombings in 1945 is unquestionable.
10 1/4″ x 7 1/4″. This book is about “Monkey Boy”. Cover edge at bottom is open at fold about 3″ and there is a 1″ spine piece at top/spine pulled away slightly. Overall this book is in excellent condition.
