We don’t use the term rare loosely like most do but it is warranted with this item. Bought in the late 1970’s from an avid collector, it is the only one we have ever seen before or since and with quite a number of cigar smokers and collectors at Funk & Junk we’ve seen a decent amount of cigar related collectibles in our travels over the years.
Iron hinges at the side fold down to release not only the lid portion but also the 8 trays held within the unit. Each tray has two sections that are separated and spaced with peg bars on the sides and in the center. The entire unit is 21″ x 9″ high. Trays also have a backing piece and each interior section within the tray is approximately 7 3/4″+ x 5 1/2″ deep.
This is a truly unique piece liken to folk art and if you smoke cigar or collect smoking memorabilia and tools of the trade you should not hesitate as you are unlikely to see another example any time soon.
