Description
1901 for the New York Herald. Great heavily illustrated color 14″ x 18″ (including black cut mat). Black memorabilia with a letter from Pore Lil Mose to his Mammy telling the story of his trip to the shore. Around the letter are great illustrations of Mose and his buddies the Bear, Dog, Monkey and black cat wrecking havoc with the other visitors to the beach. Fantastic art work by R. F. Outcault of “The Yellow Kid” and “Buster Brown” fame, among others. Two minor tears at bottom and one smaller one at top that do not show without close scrutiny. Exc. and rare.
