Description
A real rarity from a classic Cartoon and comes with a certificate stating same from the well known animation gallery, Gallery Lainzberg. Lainzberg is no longer open but they were pioneers in animation art sales and are still searchable on the net because of that.
This is from our retail managers personal collection Lainzberg was known for their quality layered matting jobs with nice color accents. This piece has inner matting in Black with etched edge outer matting in Ivory/White. Our retail manager dealt exclusively with John Cairns at Lainzberg who was their first sales representative for telephone catalog sales who went one to open his own gallery after Lainzberg closed in 2002. This piece was purchased in the late 1980’s.
Back side of frame has attached certificate with brief description of the piece and the gold Lainzberg authenticity sticker. For you new to collecting these great pieces, these are not produced for sale as many “limited editions” or sericels are were passed out in studio for various animators reference for creating production drawings and cels. Obviously survivability is a real issue for older pieces and pieces with great characters images such as these are even rarer. Model sheets of this age for comparatively smaller studios are some of the rarest related animation pieces to find.
Professionally framed and double matted with framer’s Plexiglas to further protect the piece from exposure. Piece shows normal creasing and wear. Lots of great Rock Bottom images with hand drawn Felix body for reference. Just over 17″ x 20″ framed.
