1998. New with tags. A Bass Rankin and Holiday classic! We have 2 of these and your may vary slightly from the one pictured though all of them are new.
O.K., here’s some background on these limited edition beanies that were sold in CVS drug stores only. The release numbers for these dolls was extremely limited and many/most sold out right away. The popularity of this line was such that items continue to be released today, many years after these originals.
2 beanies were released per week. A TOTAL of 1,098 cases were shipped of each character. This may sound like a lot but that is Country wide so it’s a low number. To further illustrate, the original Beanie Baby lines were made in editions of 100,000 plus but in the case of the Misfit beanies and with 24 per case that makes only about 26,000 of each character produced. That certainly rates as scarce.
