Description
We believe that this was done in 1972 to immortalize the unexpected,( it was the first Spanish Gold medal in the Winter Olympics!) Gold medal winner, “Paquito” Fernandez Ochoa, who won the Alpine Slalom by a full second over the Silver medalist.
Though somewhat impressionistic, note not only the number 2 (Paquito’s number in the 1972 Olympics) but also the Orange top, Blue pants and lined cap which Paquito wore for the winning of this event. This artist was very prolific and did many sports themed Oils during the 1960’s and early 1970’s.
Beautifully framed and great action image. Could also be acrylics but we believe it is done in oil as many/most of the other works by F. Dressen we have seen.
12 1/4″ x 14 1/4″ framed. Custom framer label on back. Better than excellent condition.
