Description
I have owned these cards since I bought them in the early 1970’s for my Magic collection. I believe I bought them from Al’s Magic in Washington D.C. but can’t be certain. What I am certain of is that even then they were rare and I have never seen another single card, let alone this nice matched collection. And yes, it’s the same Nintendo! Nintendo has its roots in producing playing cards and these roots go WAY back.
Each card is 7 1/8″ x 10″. You get a total of 13 double sided cards: 4 each 5 of Diamonds and Ace of Spades along with 5 King of Hearts (“suicide king”). Get this, cards are just a hair under 7 1/4″ x 10 1/4″! All cards have drilled holes in two opposite corners except the fives which are only drilled in a single corner. Photo shows the “worst” side of the cards.
I believe that these cards were strung together for some sort of magic effect but unfortunately the history of the trick itself did not come with these and they were sold as a collectible back then. Cards show signs of handling and age but nice and stiff save for one Ace that has a crease about 2/3 down. Given the use and age I would call these better than very good+ condition.
Reuse them in a trick or just decorate your magic room, either way you wont see them again so fair warning that these are rare in the true sense.
