Best we can tell the book is 1951 which jives with the other items consigned and currently posted. The map may be a little earlier but it is undated. The map mentions the allies and armed forces on the back.
The booklet is 4 1/2″ x 6″ and it is a great 43 page introduction to every aspect of Japanese life to include, among others, the change in life after the war, Japanese courtesy, How to get along with Japanese servants, Dress, Baths and toilets, Mythology (with illustrations of Gods). Booklet was prepared by the Troop Information and Education system, General Headquarters Far East Command. Booklet is in overall excellent condition and includes many illustrations.
The map is a beautifully colored folder map with large, 21″ x 29 1/2″ (7 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ folded), fold out map of the Izu Peninsula. It was produced by the Japan Travel Bureau / Nippon Automobile Association. Fantastic, near mint, condition with very little wear at all. Map shows Tokyo and Mt. Fuji.
