Description
The artist is elusive but we believe these great images were done by the well known Japanese artist Toshiko Okamura (also noted as Noriko Okamura) and the T.O. initials and the few examples of similar art we’ve seen lend credibility that she was the artist.
See http://artonmusic.blog96.fc2.com/blog-category-2.html for some exhibited art. The translation is a little flawed but you can scroll to her picture and then the images. Note the geometric backgrounds in addition of course to the music theme.
We are confident in saying you will never see another one of these (except the 1958 we’re also listing!!) again and if you have any interest or involvement in music then this seem like a no brainer. These sheets would look fantastic framed and you’ll be the only one who has them!
This calendar has a hard board folder and the calendar pages are serrated and meant to be pulled out for framing or as months passed. All but one page is detached from the spine but still has the side piece with the serration.
There are some storage moisture marks. These are most evident on the outside covers though each page also has some effect. This is in the form mostly of some raised curling and it is for the most part off the image areas so framing these with or without the effected areas will work out nicely. The artwork is impressive and involves animals with instruments, people with instruments, fish, ships and even an interpretation of the Yamaha factory.
