Description
We have been unable to identify this artist though it may very well be the artist we believe we have successfully identified on the 1957 calendar we are also listing. The style is very similar and the initials of the signature are also T.O..
There are script letters that follow and they could also be an abbreviated signature for that artist: Toshiko Okamura. It looks more like an “h” to us but could just as easily be a stylized “k”. You’ll need to judge but knowing the artist is really a bonus. The images are super stylized and quintessential for the time.
We are confident in saying you will never see another one of these (except the 1958 we’re also listing!!) again and if you have any interest or involvement in music then this seem like a no brainer. These sheets would look fantastic framed and you’ll be the only one who has them!
This calendar has some storage moisture marks. These are most evident on the outside covers though the first few pages also have some effect. This is in the form mostly of some staining or the appearance of discoloring of colored background but it is for the most part off the image areas. The artwork is realy great with stylized people and various instruments.
Calendar was folded horizontally at the centered but is rounded versus folded flat. The paper is more like construction paper then traditional paper.
