Description
1950’s. These thick stiff cardboard color face masks were either from a restaurant or gas station give away. Includes:
- Popeye, very good
- unknown character with parted hair, mustache and Blue bow tie, better than good condition with 2″ tear from part to right eyebrow
- Brutus, very good– with small missing piece on hat and 2 small White spots on brim
- Swee Pea, very good
- Wimpy, excellent
- Olive Oyl, better than excellent
Each mask has its original adjustable elastic strap that adjusts through 3 holes on front. Noses hinge outward. Most very good or less masks are graded simply for scattered wear and creases and we believe we have been conservative (as we always try to be) especially given the construction and intended audience (hungry, dirty kids!). Some masks still have pieces of the Yellow background from which they were cut on the edges of the mask. Each mask is scarce and this set is rare.
