Description
1973 and inscribed to the Industrial Designer from this estate. It is signed by Sandor F. Weisz who is/was a fellow in the ISDA, the US counterpart to the Japan Industrial Designers Association (JIDA).
This was published for JIDA members to commemorate the 1973 World Congress of Industrial Designers (ICSID ’73 KYOTO). 100 of designers from all over the world exhibited their groundbreaking designs and innovations and they are highlighted in this great book which is largely photographic.
These design were not simply individual designers pieces but included actually produced items by major companies such as:
- Citizen watches
- Victor
- Pilot
- Seiko
- Sansui
- Pioneer
- Denon
- Technics
- Aiwa
- Panasonic
- General Electric
- Sony
- Minolta
- Olympus
- Canon
- Numerous Furniture Manufacturers
- Suzuki
- Yamaha
- Honda
- and more!
The book is both in Japanese and English and because of its limited distribution and age it is very rare and a must for anyone interested in Industrial Design in all aspects of life.
It includes the slip cover but the top section has become unglued and the glossy cover is pulled away and slightly torn. It could pretty easily be reglued to make it nearly unnoticeable.
